Calculations in Lattice QCD would traditionally use Wilson fermions or staggered fermions or one of the (closely related) overlap or domain-wall formulations.
More recently, a number of novel fermion actions has been proposed, including Karsten-Wilczek and Borici-Creutz fermions, but also Adams fermions, Brillouin fermions and central-branch fermions belong to this category. The lattice community is in the process of assessing strengths and weaknesses of these new formulations relative to the established ones.
The goal of this workshop is to bring scientists covering formal aspects of lattice field theory together with experts in high-performance computing and perturbative calculations with a Lorentz-symmetry breaking regulator, in order to foster the exchange of ideas and help the community focus on those action design choices which augur well in all relevant aspects – physics properties, computational speed and suitability for perturbative calculations needed to design efficient interpolating operators.
