General Information

The Virtual Workshop is organized by Martina Cataldi (University of Hamburg), Maya Hager (MPIK), Heejoo Kim (KIAS), and Enrico Perboni (DESY).

MITP seeks to bring together physicists with common scientific interests to concentrate on a specific topic in a comprehensive schedule.

The MITP Virtual Workshop has a light schedule with 5 shorter talks per day by young scientists in addition to an overview talk per day by senior researchers.

There will be sessions in the morning and in the afternoon to encourage participation from scientists across the world. Each half-day will start with a session of invited talks (30 min each), followed by an open discussion with the speakers and the audience. After a coffee break, there will be shorter contributed talks (15+5 min) thus ensuring that young scientists are given enough room to present their research and gain exposure in the scientific community. On top of that, there will be a constantly open discussion room, potentially divided into break-out rooms, so that people can additionally discuss in smaller groups if desired. After the workshop, we plan to create a small video ,handbook‘ on phase transitions, by recording the talks and creating a YouTube playlist to allow for later consultation.
