The past decades have witnessed overwhelming success in narrowing down on dark matter, as we enter the era of light particle search. Axions, originally postulated to solve the strong CP problem, and axion-like particles constitute one of the most particle dark matter candidates, the study of which warrants a confluence of astrophysics, cosmology, and high-energy physics. If axions embody all of dark matter and their ubiquitousness places them from the cores of stars to dresses around compact objects, with their signatures from the primeval plasma to the cosmic microwave background.
Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Axions seeks to bridge various aspects and subfields, weaving a community of budding researchers and leading scientists tightly together through a four-(half)day-long workshop this autumn. The workshop is scheduled with three plenary talks and a few submitted lightning talks with each day dedicated to one of the key focus areas:
