Description
Coherent scalar fields play a fundamental role in the description, not only of the inflationary epoch, but also as dark matter candidates such as the axion or in dark energy models. In this talk we will explore the potential role that coherent fields
of higher spin could play in cosmology. We will present a general result showing that rapidly evolving coherent fields preserve the isotropy of the background expansion.
We will also consider models of coherent bosonic dark matter, providing an explicit example of ultralight vector dark matter and showing the distinctive features at the
perturbations level with respect to
the scalar case and to conventional cold dark matter.
