Travel Information

Airports

Frankfurt Airport (FRA)

The Frankfurt Airport is served by more than 1000 flights each day to and from nearly 300 destinations in over 100 countries. It is well connected to Mainz by the regular local train service.

To take a train to Mainz, follow the signs to the "Regionalbahnhof / local trains" at the airport to get to the regional train station. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket vending machines at the train station. Please note that they only accept coins or banknotes of up to 20€. The correct ticket is called "Einzelfahrkarte nach 6500" (which is Mainz/Wiesbaden) and costs 4.95€ per person.

The local train "S8" to "Mainz Hauptbahnhof" (Mainz Central Station) is the easiest option, which departs every 30 minutes during day time. Alternatively, you may take any regional train ("Regionalbahn/RB" or "Regionalexpress/RE") stopping at Mainz Hauptbahnhof or (which is closer to the conference center) Römisches Theater.

Hahn Airport (HHN)

The Frankfurt Hahn Airport is served by the budget airlines Ryanair and Wizz Air. There is a non-stop coach service to Mainz Central Station leaving from the airport coach station ("Busbahnhof").

The coach fare is 13.50€ payable to the driver.

Railways

The german railway network provides a very comfortable, cost-effective and environmentally conscious way to travel. There are two classes, the slightly more comfortable and significantly more expensive first class ("1./Erste Klasse") and the normal second class ("2./Zweite Klasse"). Tickets can be purchased online via the web services of the Deutsche Bahn.

The conference center is located in the old town ('Altstadt') of Mainz. The closest train station is called 'Römisches Theater' (8 min/700 m by feet) and the train line S8 from and to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) passes every 30 min. This enables a direct transfer from the airport to the venue.

Arrival by Car

Since the hotel is located very centrally, one can access it from any direction. To reach the hotel, using Rheinstraße is the easiest way. Rheinstraße can be accessed from the North via Theodor-Heuss-Brücke (Wiesbaden), from the East via A60 (Weisenau), from the South via Pariser Tor (A63) or from the West via A643 (Mombach).

The hotel also offers spots in their own parking lot against a fee.

Local Transportation

The local bus transportation is operated by RMV. Due to the central location, there are several bus stops ('Fischtor', 'Höfchen/Listmann',  and 'Pfaffengasse') and a tram stop ('Schillerplatz') in the near surroundings of the conference center, with lines heading in every direction, including the main station.
