Our goal is to utilise recent advances in conformal and quantum field theories to shed new light on characteristics of theories of quantum gravity. Specifically, we will focus on recent results from analyses of 2-dimensional conformal field theories and their moduli spaces. These findings have played a prominent role in novel formulations of the holographic principle, through which consistent quantum gravity theories are identified. A few example of such new developments, which we plan to explore in our program, are ensemble average holography, twisted holography and flat space holography.
