WineWalk „Im Schatten des Doms“ – Mainz Highlights and the best view over the city!
You will be guided on the WineWalk "Im Schatten des Doms" as an exclusive group. The meeting point of your tour is the "Leichhof". It will end at the famous "Fastnachtsbrunnen" (carnival fountain).
During your approx. 2,5-hour WineWalk you'll be introduced to many sights of the Great Wine Capital and the more curious sides of their history. Furthermore, you get to know the most famous son of the City, Johannes Gutenberg, in a different way.
Your tour will start with a stroll through the pretty old town up to the church of St. Stephan, where you will hear the incredible story of the famous stained glass windows designed by Marc Chagall (the visit is scheduled, but cannot be guaranteed due to possible events). Via Kästrich, with its magnificent view over the city up to the Taunus, you will walk through the old wine district of the city to the Fastnachtsbrunnen.
After the tour you will understand that to a Meenzer (citizen of Mainz) life is nothing without good wine and carnival! During your WineWalk you have the opportunity to taste two original, exceptional wines (0,1-0,2l each) and one sparkling wine/secco. Sufficent mineral water will also be provided. In addition the guide will explain the terroir. All wines are selected with expertise and coordinated to go with each other.
If you want to join the social event, please prepare to pay 30 EUR at the check-in on Monday at the MITP guest relations office.

For the meal you will be invited by Andrei Afanasev and the George Washington University. Kindly notice that beverages will have to be covered by the participant themselves.
