Description
We present the first determination of double-folding potentials based on chiral effective field theory up to next-to-next-to-leading order. To this end, we construct new two-body soft local chiral effective field theory interactions. We also present a first assessment of the impact of three-body interactions from chiral EFT on the nucleus-nucleus folding potential.
We benchmark this approach in oxygen-oxygen scattering, and present results for cross sections computed for elastic scattering, as well as for the astrophysical S-factor of the fusion reaction.
