The following is a summary of the instructions relevant for INSS2018 attendees who require a visa:
1) Uni Mainz must issue an Invitation Letter to each attendee. The Invitation Letter will confirm the general reason for the invitation (to attend a physics summer school) and the general duration of the attendance.
2) To get this letter, please fill in the appropriate section of the application form and give your full name (as in your passport), birthday and place of birth.
3) The Invitation Letter must be sent as an original paper to you, so please take a waiting time for postal service into consideration.
4) The visitor then can apply to the embassy or consulate in their home country of current residence for a visa. As a rule, they require between two and ten working days to decide on an application for a short stay visa.
