WineWalk „Im Schatten des Doms“ – Mainz Highlights and the best view over the city!
You will be guided on the WineWalk "Im Schatten des Doms" as an exclusive group. The meeting point of your tour is the "Leichhof". It will end at the famous "Fastnachtsbrunnen".
During your approx. 2,5-hour WineWalk you'll see many highlights of the Great Wine Capital. Among other tings, you hear the curios sides of the history of Mainz cathedral and its predecessor building. Moreover you get to know the most famous son of the City, Johannes Gutenberg, in a different way.
You will stroll through the pretty old town up to the church of St. Stephan, where you will hear the incredible story of the famous stained glass windows of marc Chagall (the visit ist scheduled, but can not be guaranteed because of possible events). Via Kästrich with his magnificent view over the city up to the Taunus you will walk through the old wine district of the city to the Fastnachtsbrunnen. Because carnival is present throughout the year. And you understand: Life is nothing without good wine!
On your WineWalk you have the opportunity to taste two original, exceptional wines (0,1-0,2l each) ans one sparkling wine/secco. Also sufficent mineral water will be there. In addition you explain terroir, sensory perception and do not forget the pleasure of the wine of course. All wines are selected with expertise and coordinated with each other.
If you want to join the social event, please prepare to pay 30 EUR at the check-in on Monday at the MITP guest relations office.
