The restaurant Le Buisson Ardent ("the Burning Bush") is located on the former site of the Saint Victor abbey, destroyed during the French Revolution.

It seems that since the end of the Middle ages at this place various  establishments called "The burning Bush" have existed. In the Bible tradition, the Burning Bush symbolizes the Revelation of God to Moses.

The pediment of the porch located 25 rue Jussieu is made of a carved stone which represents this biblical episode in a symbolic way.

The restaurant which has been existing since the beginning of the 20th century is decorated with mural frescos painted in 1925.
