The 2026 MITP Summer School on the theme "Topics in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics" will feature leading experts in diverse topics of theoretical and mathematical physics addressing advanced graduate students in theoretical high-energy physics.
We expect to accommodate ~50 students from around the world at the Erbacher Hof in downtown Mainz. The registration fee will include shared-room housing at the Erbacher Hof, full board for the weekdays and breakfast on the weekend, as well as a selection of group and touristic activities in the Mainz region. Lecturers will also be housed at the Erbacher Hof, ensuring a dynamic environment for students to engage with peers and senior physicists.
Confirmed lecturers and titles:
Ioana Coman (IPMU) - An Introduction to Vertex Operator Algebras
Renata Ferrero (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg) - Renormalization group methods in Quantum Gravity
Pyry Kuusela (Sorbonne Université) - Arithmetic in Mathematical Physics
Ruben Minasian (CEA-Saclay) - Anomalies in Quantum Field Theory and String Theory
