We present the tools needed to carry out the all-orders renormalization of some classes of EFTs directly relevant to BSM physics. The approach is based on the introduction of dynamical gauge-invariant fields in loop integrals. New relations among Green's functions arise, encoded in some novel differential equations. In favorable cases these equations lead to complete resummation of the dependence of amplitudes on the BSM parameters (at fixed loop order). New phenomena arise with a qualitativey different behaviour of the amplitudes, evaluated in the standard linearized approximation in the BSM parameters, compared with the resummed amplitudes.

We give a general formula for the two-loop renormalization counterterms of a scalar quantum field theory with interactions containing up to two derivatives, which extends 't Hooft's one-loop result. We show that factorizable topologies do not contribute to the renormalization group equations. The results will be combined with the geometric method to obtain the renormalization group equations for the scalar sector of effective field theories to two-loop order.

These are the minimum number of Lagrangian terms one needs to write SMEFT interactions of dimensions 5 to 15. They are close but not the same as the number of operators for n=1 flavors (2, 84, 30, 993, 560, 15456, 11962, 261485, 257378, 4614554, 5474170, ...). To my knowledge, up to now these numbers were unknown, although I tried to bound them in 1907.12584 [hep-ph]. Note also that the Murphy basis for SMEFT dimension 8 operators contains 1030 terms, 11 more than necessary. I will talk about this and how the computation of such numbers requires studying the permutation group.
